Dear Parents and Students,
Early Registration:
As you may know, the BC government has started to ease restrictions with respect to COVID-19 and has provided a Restart Plan to guide British Columbians through the next steps. At the Steveston Japanese Language School, we are developing protocols and procedures for the reopening of our school to ensure the safety of our students, staff and our school community.
There are still many unknowns, and we do not yet know exactly how our classes will look in the fall. As we will be following the guidelines of our provincial health authorities, classes may be a combination of online attendance and in-class learning, or all online attendance, or all in-class, or possibly anything in between. Because of this uncertainty, tuition rates have not been set, but will not exceed the 2019-2020 rates.
To help us prepare, we are opening up early registration for the 2020-2021 school year using our new secure online registration forms below. We kindly ask for your support in helping us plan for the fall by registering during the early registration period, May 28 – June 18, 2020.
During early registration, we will be collecting a deposit of only $30 per student. Once we have determined the format of our fall classes, we will advise you of your tuition fees less deposit and any applicable 2019-2020 school year tuition credit owed. The balance of your tuition fees will be collected in the fall.
Please note that during this early registration period:
- The $30 family registration fee is waived for families with children currently enrolled and are returning next school year.
- The $30 registration fee is waived for adult students who are currently enrolled and are returning next school year.

ご存知の通りBC州政府は新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大によってとられている規制の緩和と、再開に向けて段階的な計画を発表しました。
スティーブストン日本語学校では生徒、スタッフ、利用者の安全に留意し再開の準備を進めています。
まだ不明瞭な点が多くあり、本校も９月からどのように授業をするかは確定していません。州保健当局のガイドラインに従って、オンライン授業と教室での対面授業のコンビネーション授業を行うか、全クラスのオンライン授業を行うか、全クラスの対面授業を行うかなどの全ての可能性を模索していきます。
このような不確定な状況の中で授業料の設定ができておりませんが、新年度の授業料が2019年‐2020年度の授業料を上回ることはありません。
新年度の準備のため、2020-2021年度の早期登録を始めることにしました。安全なオンライン登録フォームを新しく設置しましたので、秋以降の学校再開に向け、5月28日から6月18日までの早期登録期間にお手続きくださいますよう、ご協力お願いします。
早期登録の期間内は、生徒一人につき30ドルのデポジットのみお支払いいただきます。新年度の授業形態が決まりましたら、デポジットと、2019-2020年度の授業料のクレジット（該当する場合）を差し引いた授業料をお知らせします。差額金額は秋にお支払いくださるようお願いします。
この早期登録期間中は、以下のとおり登録料が免除されます：
- 来年度も登録する在校生がいる家族は、30ドルの家庭登録料が免除されます。
- アダルトクラスの在校生が来年度も登録する場合は、30ドルの登録料が免除されます。
