Here at the Steveston Japanese Language School, we have an enthusiastic crew of teachers who love working with children and teaching the Japanese language. Every student’s individual development, progress and goals guide us in teaching the Japanese language – as a heritage language in Futsu-ka classes, and as an additional language in our Fundamental classes.

何よりも日本語を教える事そして子供たちが大好きな教師の集まりです。普通科の生徒には継承語として、そして基礎科の生徒には外国語としての日本語を、一人ひとりの子供の成長や上達具合、目的を常に考えながら授業をするように 日々努力をしています。

The teaching staff at the Steveston Japanese Language School carry a wealth of qualifications. These include certification as school teachers in Japan, as well as for instruction of cultural pursuits. Japanese Calligraphy lessons are part of Junior and Senior classes and the adult classes enjoy Tea Ceremony, calligraphy, and more. Each year our teachers participate in professional development seminars. Two or more First Aid certified teachers are always on site and all teachers have cleared criminal record checks.

教師資格をもち又日本文化の指導ができる先生ばかりです。小学生高校生クラスでは書道の授業もあり、アダルトクラスでも書道や茶道そのほか日本の文化を教えています。教師育成研修 1年に３回以上。ファーストエイド資格所有 常に2名以上。クリミナルレコード（全教師）。

Our school is a non-profit society and a community organization and is involved in community events such as the Steveston Salmon Festival and Richmond Doors Open with the active contribution from teachers who believe it is an important part of our activities to introduce Japan and its culture through involvement in the community.

非営利団体であるスティーブストン日本語学校の教師達は、本校が積極的に関わっている コミュニティーのイベント、例えば、サーモン・フェスティバルやリッチモンド・ドアーズ・オープン等にもとても協力的に参加しています。コミュニティーの活動を通して、日本とその文化を紹介することも教師の大事な活動だと信じているからです。
