Nikkei Memorial Project

Directors from the Board of Steveston Japanese Language School were at the September 22nd unveiling of the Nikkei Memorial Project located  beside the Steveston Tram. The School is donating $5000 toward the project that will recognize and honour the resilience and contributions made by the local Japanese community upon their return to Steveston from their internment during WW 2.

The memorial project, designed by Hapa Collaborative,  is co-sponsored by the Steveston Japanese Canadian Cultural Center Advisory Committee, Steveston Community Society, National Nikkei Museum & Cultural Center and the City of Richmond.
